KSP: Woman killed in Henry County car crash after striking tree


A woman has died in a Henry County crash, according to Kentucky State Police.It happened Friday afternoon around 4:30 p.m. when KSP Post 5 troopers responded to a single-vehicle crash on Ballardsville Road.Henry County EMS and Henry County Fire responded as well, and when they got there they found a victim trapped in the wreckage.The driver, Stephanie Nichols of Bethlehem, was pronounced dead on the scene by the Henry County Coroner.After a preliminary investigation, it was determined that the car Nichols was driving crossed over the road near the 5800 block of Ballardsville Road.It then struck a tree.They said it was unknown at this time why the car crossed the road and crashed.Nichols’ age was not made available either. This is an ongoing investigation being conducted by KSP.
