This is the Tehachapi Lions Club’s tenth year participating in a program that gives low-income seniors a gift of their choice, along with other items.
Applications can be picked up at the Salvation Army and mailed to Tehachapi Lions, P.O. Box 3, Tehachapi, CA 92581. We can serve a limited number of seniors.
The Lions are asking the community for its help to donate sundries to add to the seniors’ gifts. Suggested items include Kleenex, 2-ply toilet paper, shaving cream, shampoo, cream rinse, toothbrushes, toothpaste, lotion, laundry soap, fabric softener and any other sundries. Locations to drop off the sundries are Oak Tree Medical Center, 20960 Sage Lane; Village Grill, 410 Tehachapi Blvd.; Tehachapi Senior Center, 500 F St.; and Greater Tehachapi Chamber of Commerce, 209 Tehachapi Blvd.
The deadline is Dec. 6. Thank you for your donations.
The Lions and Rotary finished the Apple Drop fundraiser, and the Lions’ portion of the funds earned helps with the Lions Club Senior Christmas program.
We want to thank our sponsors: BSE for donating the manlift, Edward Jones – Jennifer V. Palakiko Financial Adviser, Adorable Alpacas and Moats and Hebebrand CPAs, and our gift card donors, Village Grill, Kohnen’s Bakery, Sail Thru Car Wash, Petra’s restaurant, One Fine Day restaurant, Carlos’ Donuts and the city of Tehachapi.
