Guard

Studs

De’Aaron Fox, Sacramento Kings at Dallas Mavericks, $9,300 — Dallas is on the back of a back-to-back and suffered a tough loss on Saturday night. The Mavs are on their heels, and the Kings are ruling and rolling — four wins in a row. Fox has reached 6x DFS value in four of his last five contests and scored 50 DKFP in those four games. He is carrying a strong 31.8% usage rate across a massive nightly workload (36.8 minutes). The result is a top-tier 1.4 fantasy points per minute this season.

Jordan Clarkson, Utah Jazz vs. Phoenix Suns, $7,000 — This slate is loaded with elite guards. Clarkson isn’t one of them. He is on a heater and he’s cheaper. He pairs well with any of the high-priced options. The total for the Jazz-Suns rematch is 239. It’s not the highest on the slate, but it’s close and these two teams combined for 259 points on Friday night. A big part of that was Jordan Clarkson’s output — 37 points (52.75 DKFP). Clarkson has scored over 40 DKFP in four straight with an average return of 7x. He’s averaged a 7x return in six of the last eight games.

Value

Keyonte George, Utah Jazz vs. Phoenix Suns, $5,400 — This fantasy basketball value pick has reached its limit in NBA DFS. If George’s salary increases anymore, and it will, then jump ship. George is receiving about 30 minutes a game in his new role as a starter. In his four starts, he’s scored 23, 28.75, 32.5 and 29.75 DKFP. It’s curious if George can do more. He likely cannot, but he’s been a steady scorer and spreads stats across the sheet. In a high-scoring game on Sunday, there is still some meat on bone.

Forward

Studs

Kevin Durant, Phoenix Suns at Utah Jazz, $9,900 — Friday was fun. The Suns and Jazz exploded for 259 points. Durant scored 65.25 DKFP in 33 minutes. That’s almost an unheard of two fantasy points per minute. This is the rematch in Utah. Let others say Durant can’t do it again. Why not? It’s Kevin Durant. If he smoked the Jazz on Friday, why won’t he light them up in Utah on Sunday?

Value

Toumani Camara, Portland Trail Blazers vs. Oklahoma City Thunder, $4,100 — A $4,100 starter automatically qualifies. There is a slight fear of a blow out, and Camara could play fewer minutes against a superior opponent. That might not be the case. The Thunder are on the back of a road back-to-back and played in overtime on Saturday night. The Blazers might have a chance. If they do, then Camara should exceed value. He started and scored 23.5 DKFP across a season-high 36 minutes on Friday night. If Camara is carving out a role in a depleted rotation, then now is the time to buy low.

Tari Eason, Houston Rockets at Los Angeles Lakers, $4,200 — The NBA DFS Weekend Targets article likes to be early. Who doesn’t like to start the weekend early? Eason is being eased in. His minutes haven’t been there yet. Key word yet. They will be. And DFS players will want to be there when Eason plays 25 minutes or more. Eason will play one of the games for the Rockets’ upcoming back-to-back. Is he sitting Sunday or Monday? If he’s only playing one, will the Rockets stretch him out? He hit 5.8x in 20 minutes with a $4,300 salary on Friday night. On Nov. 8, against the Lakers, he returned and 8.3x value in 14 minutes (24.75 DKFP with a $3,000 salary).

Center

Studs

Domantas Sabonis, Sacramento Kings at Dallas Mavericks, $10,000 — The guard position is stacked for Sunday night’s slate. Center is not. Will Anthony Davis ($9.700) play? It doesn’t matter. Steady Sabonis is always the Saturday/Sunday standby. He’s scored at least 53 DKFP in five straight and is averaging around a 6x return over that span. Asking for more is greedy. Take the safety and move on.

Deandre Ayton, Portland Trail Blazers vs. Oklahoma City Thunder, $6,600 — This almost qualifies as a value pick. The Blazers are thin and have been for some time. Ayton’s salary has not increased much because he hasn’t been very consistent. So there is that, but it’s the Blazers. They’ll bust more than they boom. Ayton played 38 minutes and scored 38.5 DKFP on Friday night. He scored 39.5 DKFP on Nov. 14. If he scores, then he gets there. And there’s a sentiment that he has not yet reached his offensive potential in this ragtag lineup.

Value

Duop Reath, Portland Trail Blazers vs. Oklahoma City Thunder, $3,300 — This is not a good night for DFS value picks at center. C Bismack Biyombo ($5,800) is a safe play, but he’s not a great value on a back-to-back. Reath is not safe but could provide a major return. The Trail Blazers are thin and outmatched. There is no telling who will be running up and down the court on Sunday night. Since Nov. 14, Reath has scored over 22 DKFP or more twice in four games. That’s over 7x value. Twice, he’s scored nothing. That’s a tournament NBA DFS pick if there ever was one.
