Tehran meeting to explore contemporary Italian literature


TEHRAN –Iranian literati will come together in a session on Tuesday at the Book City Institute in Tehran to attend a review of Italian literary critic and essayist Giulio Ferroni’s book “Contemporary Italian Literature”.

A Persian translation by Manuchehr Afsari has recently been published by Hermes Publications in Tehran. 

The session will be attended by Afsari and critics Haleh Nazemi, Mehdi Firuzan, and Ali-Asghar Mohammadkhani as well as the Italian ambassador Giuseppe Perrone. 

Giulio Ferroni is an acclaimed Italian literary critic, historian, and essayist, born on August 14, 1943, in Rome. With a passion for Italian literature, Ferroni has become a leading authority in the field through his deep knowledge and extensive contributions. He has held prestigious positions at various Italian universities and is renowned for his rigorous analysis of Italian literature from a historical and sociocultural perspective. 

Ferroni’s writings encompass a wide range of critical theories, examining connections between literature, society, and politics, and highlighting the ways in which Italian literature reflects and shapes cultural and intellectual ideologies.

Ferroni’s analysis has established him as a significant literary critic.
