Local celebrities will be bagging groceries Tuesday at 33 Food City supermarkets across the Tennessee, Virginia and Alabama to help support United Way in the grocery chain’s 17th annual Celebrity Bagging Event.

From 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday, local officials, business leaders and educators will be bagging groceries and using consumer tips to help support local United Way campaigns. Shoppers who wish to do so can contribute to the United Way at the checkouts, via collection containers or they can elect to have their contribution conveniently added to their grocery total.

In the Chattanooga area, celebrities will be bagging groceries today at the Food City at 5604 Hixson Pike in Hixson and at the Food City at 255 Ocoee Crossing North in Cleveland, Tennessee.
