Director of Museum of Indian Arts and Culture leaving post

Roughly a year after accepting the job of executive director of the Museum of Indian Arts and Culture, Polly Nordstrand announced she is stepping down Dec. 1.

Nordstrand is relocating to California to be closer to family, according to a news release the state Department of Cultural Affairs issued Monday.

“Polly has been an outstanding leader for the museum as an active proponent for engagement with communities statewide, especially Tribal communities,” Debra Garcia y Griego, Cabinet secretary of the Department of Cultural Affairs, said in the release. “The department is thankful for her services and wishes her the best in all her future endeavors.”
