After Arjun Chakrabarty, actor Shaheb Bhattacherjee is returning to television after 12 long years. Shaheb will be seen playing the lead character in the mega serial Kotha.
“I started my career as an anchor. I used to be the host of Dosh Minuter Khel. Then I played the lead in Megh Balika, Bondhon and Nir Bhanga Jorand by the grace of God all of them were a huge hit among the audience and people loved the characters I played in all these serials.I took a break from the small screen after that I was busy doing films. Now, I feel it is the right time to go back totelevision as the reach of an artist is huge through this medium. Television, according to me, is the most popular entertainment medium so when I got this offer for Kotha to play chef Abhi, I grabbed it. The story of this serial and my character both are brilliant,” said the actor. He added, “As an artist I can’t always wait for a meaty role to come my way. As an actor it is necessary I face the camera almost every day so that my acting improves. Needless to say, money is also a big factor in television. Many of my colleagues have migrated to television because of the exposure one gets from this medium. From now on I will try to manage small screen, OTT and films all together. This year I did three films, so I am hopeful that I will be able to manage all the mediums of acting. ”
How difficult is it to play a chef on screen? “It is not difficult for me as I am a good cook, and all my friends will vouch for it. While we were shooting for the promo, the directorial team was amazed to see how well I can cut vegetables and know the nitty gritties of cooking and its ingredients,” said Shaheb with a smile.
