Elton John’s Tearful Farewell Concert in Stockholm

Elton John ended his touring career with an emotional show at the Tele2 Arena in Stockholm, Sweden, after a five-year trip with 330 Farewell Yellow Brick Road concerts around the world.

“Goodbye Yellow Brick Road,” the last song of the night, was caught on video by fans.

Elton John thanked the crowd for being there and talked about how successful his work has been and how much his fans have helped him. He said that it was because they bought singles, CDs, albums, and tickets that he could keep playing live, which he called his “lifeblood.” He told them how much he appreciated their steadfast support and said they were “magnificent.”

Elton John first talked about the Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour at a news conference in January 2018 that Anderson Cooper ran. Even though he said he wouldn’t travel anymore, he stressed his commitment to creativity and his desire to end his traveling career with a big show.

Even though Elton John might not go on another tour, he said he was open to a residency focusing on his lesser-known songs. He was inspired by Kate Bush’s 2014 stay at the Hammersmith Apollo.
