PAWTUCKET – In the span of 30 minutes last Friday at Maven’s Delicatessen, a half-dozen people came in to ask the owner and executive chef either whether they could buy a sandwich, or when the new New York-style Jewish deli will open.

This kind of buzz is even more than they expected, said owner Jason Sugarman, and it’s why they’re working overtime before Maven’s opens to make sure everything is to the highest standard possible.
