A Brothers Revival to celebrate Allman Brothers in Albany


ALBANY – There is one band with the musical roots to carry on the music and spirit of the Allman Brothers Band — A Brothers Revival. The tribute band will be performing at the Albany Municipal Auditorium on Jan. 26 at 8 p.m.

Former Allman Brothers’ bassist (78-82), and bandleader of A Brothers Revival, David “Rook” Goldflies spent years touring and performing with Gregg Allman, Dickey Betts, Butch Trucks, and Jaimoe. With the Allman Brothers, as well as Dickey Betts and Great Southern, Goldflies toured the U.S. and Europe and learned first-hand how the Allman Brothers sound was created. He performed for crowds as large as 100,000 in arenas such as Soldiers Field and Mile High Stadium and on television shows like “Saturday Night Live,” “Don Kirshner’s Rock Concert” and “Solid Gold.
