Sid contributed to a segment about public marriage proposals at sports arenas.

Meredith asked Sid: “Would you do it?”

Sid looked scandalized and responded: “Never. I’m the guy yelling don’t do it.”

Producers could be heard chuckling and his co-host laughed before looking down at the table: “Right.”

Sid continued: “There’s always like 9 guys or people who yell ‘don’t do it’ and I think it’s funny every time.”

Meredith looked confused: “From a male perspective, what would make you do that?”

He replied: “Well looking at these prices, I can’t answer that question. We’re bringing this up because there was a survey taken at sporting venues across America.

“How much would it actually cost? We’re talking about tickets, we’re talking about proposals on the Jumbotron, we’re talking about all the stuff.”

Sid explained: “Scotia Bank Arena was $411. Must be love.

“On the ethics alone, publicly proposing at a sporting event, not looking at any of those costs, I’d say that’s a bad idea.”

Sid got increasingly more passionate and made hand gestures towards the camera.

“Those costs make it idiotic to me. You cannot spend money on an idea that bad,” he said, slapping his hand against his desk.

He concluded: “Just understand, if you’re thinking about doing this I know you’re in love and it’s a special time for you, you’re making a huge mistake.”

Sid gave viewers a final passionate warning: “Just don’t do it. Just don’t do it.”

‘CRAZIEST DINNER EVER’

This live warning came after Sid teased his weekend antics after claiming he had the ‘craziest’ weekend with Meredith.

Sid sat next to Tammie Sutherland as they discussed their weekends on Monday’s episode.

The news anchor said: “I had a good weekend. I had dinner Friday.”

He continued: “Mer and I went out for dinner on Friday with the significant others. It was lovely.”
