• The Mountain West is celebrating its 25th season of women’s basketball during the 2023-24 campaign.
• Boise State is tied for third in the country in blocks per game (8.0) and fifth in scoring defense (46.0).
• Colorado State is among the top three nationally in three statistical categories. The Rams are first in assist-to-turnover ratio (2.63), first in field goal percentage (.280) and third in scoring defense (44.3).
• Nevada is third in the country for steals per game (17.7).
• UNLV is ranked in the top five in the country in three-pointers per game, ranking third (12.0), and fifth in three-point attempts (31.8).
• Wyoming leads nation in free-throw percentage with 87.3%.
• Air Force’s Jayda McNabb is tied for fourth in offensive rebounds per game (6.0).
• Boise State’s Abby Muse is tied for fifth in the country with 15 blocks on the season and tied for second in blocks per game (3.75).
• Colorado State’s McKenna Hofschild is third in the country for assist/turnover ratio with an 8.0.
• Colorado State’s Sydney Mech is tied for first in the nation/Conerence? 3-point shooting percentage (75%).
• Nevada’s Audrey Roden is tied for fifth in the nation in steals per game (4.33) and teammate Lexie Givens is ranked ninth in the country (4.0).
• UNLV’s Desi-Rae Young leads the Conference in double-doubles (3) and is tied for third in the nation and is among the top 20 in rebounds per game (11.0).
• Heading into the third week of the 2023-24 season, UNLV is receiving votes in both the Associated Press and USA Today Coaches Poll.
• Three Mountain West women’s basketball players have been named to the Becky Hammon Mid-Major Player of the Year Watchlist (McKenna Hofschild; Colorado State, Desi-Rae Young; UNLV and Allyson Fertig; Wyoming).
• Colorado State’s McKenna Hofschild has also been named to the Nancy Lieberman Point Guard of the Year watchlist.
• Five women’s basketball teams (New Mexico, Colorado State, Fresno State, UNLV and Boise State) are undefeated after week one (two?) of the 2023-24 season.
• The Mountain West had four teams (UNLV, Colorado State, San Diego State and Wyoming) in the top 100 of the NET rankings in 2022-23.
• UNLV represented the Mountain West in the 2023 NCAA Tournament.
• Four Mountain West programs (Wyoming, New Mexico, San Diego State and Colorado State) made appearances in the 2023 WNIT.
