Is Jason Sudeikis the “cupid” who introduced Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift?
In a WSJ. magazine interview on Monday, the NFL player, 34, said that a mutual acquaintance was “playing cupid” during the early days of his romance with the global pop sensation.
“There were definitely some people she knew that knew who I was, in her corner [who said], ‘Yo! Did you know he was coming. I had someone playing Cupid,” he recalled, noting that Swift texted him not long after his public confession.
Though the Kansas City Chiefs’ tight end did not identify who the mystery matchmaker was, fans began to piece together that it was most likely Jason Sudeikis – a Chiefs superfan and self-proclaimed Kansas City native.
In a recent interview with the Hollywood Reporter, Ted Lasso stated that he and Kelce attended one of Swift’s gigs in July in Kansas City.
Sudeikis was then photographed with Swift at a party a week later.
His words of encouragement for the new lovebirds were the final nail in the coffin.
“I don’t blame [Taylor] for wanting to hang out here more. I don’t blame her for wanting to hang out with Travis,” he explained.
“Anyone else think it’s a fascinating ‘coincidence’ #Cheifs superfan, Jason Sudeikis, happened to sit with #TaylorSwift at #Questlove’s birthday party in #NYC, then #TravisKelce happened to be spotted outside Tay’s favourite club, Zero Bond, just a few days later in mid-July?” A member of the public commented on Twitter.
Swift and Kelce ignited romance rumors in September and confirmed it with a kiss during Swift’s Buenos Aires show in early November.
