Describe Ayaka Miyoshi in three words.

Tomboy, sexy, and humourous.

What was your childhood dream?

When I was a child, my mum was a nursery teacher, and I admired that a lot. I wanted to be a nursery teacher just like her. Even now, I still really love children.

How has your personal style evolved since starting out? What have you learnt about yourself through fashion?

I started working as a model at the age of seven, and have experienced a lot since then. I’ve only started to enjoy, be curious, and challenge myself more around 20 years old. Take for example, working abroad in films and for fashion shows and events has given me opportunities to express and develop myself.

Which was your favourite look on the Gucci Cruise 2024 runway, and why?

I have so many! First of all, the fact that they did it at Gyeongbokgung Palace was brilliant—the show and production were stunning. My favourite looks are the first few, particularly the cropped tops and high-waisted floor-grazing bottoms. I loved the long dresses with trains trailing behind as well.

What is the most underrated food in Japan that people should try?

Natto! Natto has this sticky, mucilaginous texture that is quite unique. Try it on rice, topped with finely chopped spring onions, ginger, sesame oil, seasme seeds, and shichimi tōgarashi spices… mix them all up. It’s simply the best!

What is something that most pepole do not know about you?

People who see me on screen have an impression that I’m cold, but I’m actually quite talkative and comical—I love joking around! I like having a couple of drinks and love eating a lot. Those who are close to me would affectionately describe me as a gyaru.
