Eileen Mary Stiadle of Montgomery passed away peacefully on Tuesday, Nov. 21st, 2023 at The Gatehouse, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Born Aug. 30th, 1947 in Williamsport, she was the daughter of the late Lawrence and Kathryn (Gardner) Curchoe. On Feb. 10th, 1966, she married Thomas A. Stiadle, who survives. Together, they celebrated 57 years of marriage.

Eileen was a 1965 graduate of Williamsport High School. She studied at St. Mary’s Parochial School, Lycoming College, and Williamsport Area Community College. She retired from Susquehanna Health System after over 30 years of service in the dietary department. Prior to that she worked for her family’s store, Curchoe’s Foods, for many years.

A devout Catholic, Eileen was a member of the Church of the Resurrection for over fifty years. She taught First Communion classes for many years and was a fixture at daily Mass.

Eileen enjoyed going on long walks with her dogs, watching sports, and going to the beach. She was able to travel to Ocean City Maryland this past Sept. Eileen loved meeting new people and giving to others. She was very active in fighting cancer and participated in the annual Relay for Life and cancer support groups for years.

Surviving in addition to her husband are daughter, Jeanna Stiadle (Evan Pagel) of Green Bay, WI; four sons, Thomas Stiadle Jr. of Montgomery, Kevin Stiadle (Karyn Johnson) of Jersey Shore, Patrick Stiadle of Plymouth, Michael Stiadle (Lori) of Minoa, NY; six grandchildren, Matthew Stiadle, Elizabeth Stiadle, Kathryn Stiadle, Thomas Stiadle, Benjamin Stiadle and Molly Stiadle; a sister, Laura Cullens (Robert Hetzel) of Louisville, KY; four brothers, Roy Curchoe (Mary) of Montoursville, Richard Curchoe (Shirleen) of Florence, SC, Stephen Curchoe (Donna) of Loyalsock, and Fred Curchoe (Jeannie) of South Williamsport. Eileen is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends. In addition to her people, Eileen also left behind her beloved pets: dog, Minnie, and two cats, Chester and Cosette.

Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 26th at Crouse Funeral Home, 133 E. Third St. Williamsport. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 27th at The Church of the Resurrection, 75 Musser Lane, Muncy. Concelebrants will be Rev. Glenn McCreary and Rev. Sean Carpenter. Friends may visit the church from 10 to 11 a.m.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Relay for Life, River Valley PA mailed to the American Cancer Society, RFL Lycoming Co., PO Box 862 Carnegie PA 15106, in Eileen’s name.
