
The No.25 ranked University of Minnesota Duluth women’s basketball team gears up for their first homestand of the 2023-24 season in Romano Gymnasium as they take on the Michigan Tech University Huskies and the Northern Michigan University Wildcats.

THE SEASON SO FAR
The Bulldogs are hot off a 75-64 win over Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) rival Minnesota State University Mankato. Graduate student guard Taytum Rhoades led UMD with 22 points and a perfect 9-9 from the free throw line to power past the Mavericks on Tuesday. UMD has since fallen to No.25 on the most recent WBCA poll, but remain as the only NSIC team on the poll as the Mavericks have fallen out of the rankings.
SCOUTING REPORT
The Michigan Tech Huskies are currently 3-1 overall on the season after a loss to the No.1 ranked Ashland University Eagles. UMD is 3-6 against the Huskies since 2013, losing their most recent matchup 46-61 last season. The Northern Michigan Wildcats are 4-1 so far this season, with their only loss also being to the No.1 Ashland University Eagles. The Bulldogs defeated NMU 50-37 in their most recent matchup last season, and remain 4-3 against the Wildcats since the 2015-16 season.
LOOKING AHEAD
The Bulldogs will return to Romano Gymnasium next weekend to resume their conference schedule against Wayne State and Augustana. The action will kick off on Saturday, Dec. 2, at 2:00 PM.
