14 Farmers Booked for Cheating Finance Company of Rs 47 Lakh | Nashik News

Nashik: The Sarkarwada police have booked 14 farmers for allegedly cheating a finance company of Rs 47 lakh.
According to the police officer, the finance company provided a loanof Rs47 lakh to the farmers, most of them from Dindori-taluka, for buying tractors. The beneficiaries, however, sold the tractors without informing the company. The finance company claimed that the farmers had paid a down payment and equated monthly instalments, but the instalments turned out to be defaulters.According to bank officials, the accused did not settle dues, leading to the interest and principal on the loan exceeding Rs 47 lakh.
This led to the bank carrying out legal processes asking the farmers to settle their loans, including taking the tractors into the bank’s possession. That was when it came to light that the farmers had sold the tractors to third parties without any consent from the company. The company officials then registered the complaint against the farmers with the Sarkarwada police.
