WAYNE COUNTY, Ohio (WOIO) – One person died in a three-car crash in Wayne County that hospitalized two other people, according to state troopers.
OSHP says it happened around 7:15 p.m. on SR-83 near milepost 20 in Canaan Township, Wayne County.
Troopers say a Chevrolet Camaro, traveling southbound, struck a GMC Acadia, also traveling southbound, which caused the Acadia to travel left of center into the northbound lanes.
Troopers said the Acadia then struck a Honda Odyssey.
The driver of the Acadia, 26-year-old Morgan Hoxworth, of Smithville, died at the scene, troopers confirmed.
EMS transported the driver of the Camaro, a 48-year-old Litchfield man, to Wooster Community Hospital with minor injuries, OSHP said.
EMS also transported the passenger of the Acadia, a 30-year-old man from Wooster Community Hospital with suspected injuries, troopers confirmed.
The 52-year-old Olmsted Township man driving the Odyssey, along with two other occupants of that car, did not sustain any injuries, OSHP confirmed.
Troopers say while the crash remains under investigation, alcohol and/or drug use is suspected as contributing factors.
