Knights, Ladies give coats to children in need


Knights of Columbus Council 6168 and its Ladies Auxiliary donated 145 new coats for boys and girls to the Family Resources Center in Hernando.

The Family Resource Center will include the coats in Christmas packages tailored to meet the specific needs of children. As of Nov. 8, 900 had already applied for Christmas packages. It is a number that is expected to grow to 1,500, said Jeanne Smail, senior staff member at the center.
