WEIRTON — The International Senior Club met Nov. 14 at Undo’s in Weirton.
Vice President Tony La Rosa led the prayer and reminded members about Veterans Day. He read a poem about Flanders Field honoring the veterans. Gene Viola led the Pledge of Allegiance and members joined in singing “God Bless America.”
A Thanksgiving buffet and dessert followed.
President Regina Truax welcomed back Sylvia Wendt and new member, Mary Ellen Glover. She then introduced three guests, Marlene Dunn, Joyce Dobbs and Mary Ann Whalen.
The minutes were read by Secretary Rita Orler. The treasurer’s report was given by Norma Henson. The report was approved and filed for audit. Truax reminded members dues can be paid at the December meeting for 2024 and the Christmas party will be held Dec. 12.
Members were asked to bring a dessert, appetizer or munchies to share. She asked members to bring in a toy for Toys for Tots. The donations will be distributed by Gabriel Arlia.
Happy anniversary and happy birthday were sung to those celebrating in November.
Get-well cards were sent by Barbara Purks.
The joke of the day was read by Liz Beecroft.
The following bus tours were announced, A Motown Christmas Show, Capitol Theater, Wheeling, Saturday; Rock and Roll Doo Wop 24, Capitol Theater, Wheeling, March 9; “Footloose the Musical,” Lincoln Park Performing Art Center, Midland, May 5; Atlantic City, May 19-22; “Daniel,” Sight and Sound Theater, Lancaster, May 29-31; and the Ark Encounter and the Creation Museum, Northern Kentucky and Cincinnati respectively, June 12-14.

Undo’s gift certificates were won by Marlene Dunn and Patty Coppa.
