DENVER — Quarterback Dorian Thompson-Robinson was one of several key players for the Browns who were injured in their loss at the Denver Broncos.

Star defensive end Myles Garrett said he felt something pop in his left shoulder and departed Empower Field with his arm in a sling. Cleveland’s best wide receiver,

Amari Cooper, suffered a rib injury, and defensive tackle Jordan Elliott injured an ankle. The Browns have already weathered more than their share of major injuries this year.

Running back Nick Chubb was lost for the season to a knee injury in Week 2 and quarterback Deshaun Watson is out for the year with a broken shoulder.

LAS VEGAS — Maxx Crosby was listed as doubtful all week with a knee injury.

He didn’t practice once. With Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs in town, the Las Vegas Raiders star defensive end was determined to get in the starting lineup.

Crosby started for Las Vegas and sacked Mahomes once, raising his total this season to 11.5, during the Raiders’ 31-17 loss to Mahomes and the Chiefs on Sunday.

INDIANAPOLIS — Tampa Bay quarterback Baker Mayfield played the tough guy role perfectly Sunday. He shook off a right ankle injury and returned to the game after missing just two plays.

He did everything he could to evade Indianapolis’ pass rushers, to rally the Bucs from an early 14-point deficit and to finish the game.

Mayfield wasn’t as efficient or effective after suffering the injury and his two turnovers proved costly in a critical 27-20 loss at Indianapolis.

PHILADEPLHIA — Philadelphia Eagles right tackle Lane Johnson was inactive with a groin injury for Sunday’s overtime win over Buffalo.

Johnson woke up Sunday with soreness in his groin and received treatment. He tested the injury pregame but ultimately could not play. Jack Driscoll is likely to start in Johnson’s place.

A four-time Pro Bowl selection, Johnson was the No. 4 pick in the 2013 draft. The All-Pro tackle missed two games last season with a torn adductor in his groin.
