MADISON, Wis. — The Henry Vilas Zoo has welcomed a new capybara, but it will be a few months before the public gets a chance to meet her.

Peru, a 4-year-old female capybara, comes to Madison from Chicago’s Brookfield Zoo. She takes the place of Fiona, an elderly female capybara that died of natural causes at the zoo earlier this year.
