Good Samaritan: From food to fashion, one woman continuously gives back to community

Inge Buchholz

GREAT FALLS, Mont. – From fashion to food, Inge Buchholz is serving the community through giving back with many different organizations.

“I like to help. I love to help. That’s what I am. I like to help other people achieve what they their goal is,”said Buchholz.

Inge owns and runs Inge’s Fashions in downtown Great Falls, and has been in the area for about 41 years.

But besides running a business, she also wants to give back to the community, so she’s involved with many different organizations, one of them being the Doe’s.

Every year, they have events where they raise money for non-profit organizations.

“At the end of the year after we know how much money we have in our account, then we divide up some of that for the nonprofit organizations, we choose between six, seven, or eight nonprofit organizations that have to do with children and women,” said Buchholz.

Organizations like Toby’s House, the YWCA, The Children’s Receiving Home, and many others.

Inge is also involved with her church, the toastmasters, and the chamber of commerce.

But on top of giving back that way, she also plays a role in the Danny Berg Memorial Christmas Dinner.

“We started working with the Danny Berg dinner many years ago when Danny was still alive. And he had that dream of feeding the homeless people for Christmas. And so we told him, let’s just go ahead and do it. And he decided to go ahead and start it up,” said Buchholz.

She’s watched the dinner grow from feeding 75 people to feeding hundreds in the community.

“Inge’s a great example of somebody who’s not afraid to jump in with both feet on a huge project. And what a cool project. I mean, the Danny Berg Christmas memorial dinner for people who just need somewhere to go for Christmas dinner, whether they’re a serviceman who doesn’t have a family here and wants to be among friends in the community or help serve those people, or whether there’s a homeless person or a young family who may not have money to buy a ham or a goose or a turkey and wants to go be with the community. She’s there making it happen,” said Doug Day with The Advocates.

Whether it’s helping you find your next outfit, volunteering, helping women and children, or feeding the hungry, Inge does everything she can to help others.

“It feels very good right in here, in my heart feels wonderful. And God willing, I can do it many more years,” said Buchholz.

Inge Buchholz is November’s Good Samaritan.

“Good Samaritans are what make Montana great. We’d love to be your Good Samaritan, if you’ve been injured in an accident, give the advocates a call at 406-640-4444,” said Day.
