Hometown Hub opens new location in Fremont for wellness, healthy meals

FREMONT – When DeeAnn Lento and Danyelle Lantz celebrated the grand opening of Hometown Hub of On Point Wellness on Nov. 16, they were not introducing a new business. Instead, they were announcing the newest location for the nutrition club they have owned for 12 years.

Hometown Hub is the rebranded name of On Point Wellness, which was previously located at other sites in Fremont and Port Clinton. The new location, on East State Street, gives the owners greater opportunity to connect with the public and network with organizations in town that can help them fulfill their mission of walking alongside local residents on their health journeys.

“We offer healthy meal replacement shakes, energy drinks and healthy snack alternatives,” Lento said.

But Hometown Hub is more than a shop that sells nutrition products. It is a place to find encouragement and connection.

Shop offers foods, weight loss challenges, workouts

“We do weight loss challenges and have accountability groups. We offer zoom workouts and in-person workouts at local parks,” Lento said. “In this little place, we get a lot done. We wanted a central location where people can see us and we can network to find places to do workouts and fitness camps in the community.”

Iced coffee, tea and protein balls are just a few of the choices on the Hometown Hub menu.

Although Hometown Hub is a nutrition club, anyone is welcome to stop in to purchase something from their menu, which includes shakes, smoothie bowls, hot oats, waffles, teas, and iced coffees.

“Anyone can walk in and purchase something, but we can also do customized nutrition plans and 21-day challenges. You can do anything for 21 days, and it creates healthy habits and gives you a jumpstart on your goals,” Lento said.

Lantz’s first introduction to the business came through a 21-day challenge. By the end, she had lost 40 pounds.

“She got insane results and wanted to share that with others, so she locked arms with me, and we’re promoting this together,” Lento said.

Lento’s father supports the shop behind the counter

Lento’s father, Ed Farson, can often be seen behind the counter making shakes and waffles for customers. He has been with Lento since the beginning and works as a personal trainer.

“He’s our number one supporter,” Lento said.

Michelle Rathfelder has been training with Farson and purchasing products from Lento for over a year. She joined the nutrition club because she wanted to improve her health.

“Ed is a blast. I was looking for accountability, for really positive, motivating people. I found that here,” Rathfelder said. “Because of that, I’ve gotten more confident and more outgoing.”

Rathfelder is among many customers who have turned to Hometown Hub for help.

“We definitely provide everything you need for a healthy lifestyle. We offer nutrition products, a support system, and one-on-one coaching,” Lento said. “You can stop by to get a good coffee or a good tea, but we’re so much more. We have so many tools you can utilize to reach your health goals.”
