WARWICK, R.I. (WJAR) — A van crashed through a fence and nearly hit a home in Warwick on Wednesday morning.
Family members told NBC 10 News that the van struck a car parked in the yard.
They said if the car hadn’t been there, the van would have crashed into the room where their grandmother was sleeping.
Police said they got a 911 call at about 6:20 a.m. reporting the crash.
They said the van struck a fence on the other side of the street before careening onto the property, where it struck the parked car, hit the chimney and spun around.
The 42-year-old driver was charged with druken driving, reckless driving and resisting address.
