Bend playwright Cricket Daniel’s “The Night Before the Night Before Christmas” is returning to the Bend stage with its 7:30 p.m. opening Friday at Cascades Theatre, where it begins a four-week run.

The comedy tells the story of Lou (Richard Mueller) and Carol (Daniel) and their attempt to ditch the New Jersey cold for the warmer climes of Hawaii, only to get stranded at the airport. As Cascades Theatrical Co. asks, “Will a couple of unexpected characters help restore Lou’s Christmas spirit in the St. Nick of time?”
