Subaru donates 2023 Outback to Campbell County Technical Center’s automotive program

How would you like to see a brand-new car rolling into your garage?

Students at the Campbell County Technical Center got a wonderful gift on Tuesday.

Subaru donated this 2023 Outback for the kids in the automotive program to use for their classes. Both students and staff say this donation will be a huge help.

“Having something like this will be a really big thing because we get more of an opportunity to work on some of the newer stuff, and get a feel of some of the new electronic controls,” automotive technology student Trey Watlington said.

“We want our kids when they leave here to be able to understand what they’re getting involved in as far as when you go to the dealership to do the job, you have some kind of ability or understanding of what you’re going to be working on,” said Michael Myers, a Campbell County Schools automotive technology instructor.

Terry Subaru delivered the new car. That dealership has a long history of working with the Campbell County automotive program, and right now they employ 8 former and current students.
