EL PASO, Texas (KFOX14/CBS4) — The El Paso Police Department is gearing up to present a strategic plan set to address the incidents in and around entertainment venues and house parties.
This comes as incidents such as shootings appear to happen more often.
City representative Henry Rivera placed the item on the agenda and said it is necessary for police to share how they plan to address the issue.
“You have the Airbnb houses being used for parties that get out of control and you have unruly customers or patrons at Cincinnati causing all types of havoc down there and so they want to address all that,” said Rivera.
Rivera said Tuesday’s presentation is meant to provide transparency to the community.

The presentation highlights the Cincinnati Entertainment District and parts of Airway Boulevard and North Zaragoza as the problem areas.
From the beginning of the year through October 31, there were over 2,800 calls and officers dispatched in those three areas.
Out of those calls, 462 of them involved weapons, shots fired, or subject disturbance calls.
