Succession, a highly rated show on HBO, has been nominated for 27 Emmys for its final season, making it the favorite for this year’s awards.

Succession has done a lot of great things, like getting 14 acting nods, some of which went to Brian Cox, Jeremy Strong, Kieran Culkin, and Sarah Snook. This is a first in the history of the Emmy Awards: three actors from the same show have been nominated for lead character.

Succession will compete for the prized title of Best Drama Series against strong rivals like Andor, Better Call Saul, The Crown, House of the Dragon, Yellowjackets, The White Lotus, and The Last of Us.

This year’s nominations are also led by HBO’s adaptation of a video game, which got an amazing 24 nominations for its first season. Both Bella Ramsey and Pedro Pascal were named for awards. With his nominations for Saturday Night Live and Patagonia: Life on the Edge of the World, Pascal became the Latino actor with the most nominations in a single year.

In the Best Actor in a Drama Series category, the leads of Succession and Pedro Pascal will be joined by well-known actors Jeff Bridges for The Old Man and Bob Odenkirk for the last season of Better Call Saul, which got a total of seven nods.

In the spot for Best Actress in a Drama Series, Sarah Snook and Bella Ramsey will compete against Sharon Horgan for Bad Sisters, Melanie Lynskey for Yellowjackets, Elisabeth Moss for The Handmaid’s Tale, and Keri Russell for the Netflix hit The Diplomat.

The White Lotus, which got 23 nods for its second season, is HBO’s third most-nominated show and a big part of the network’s success. Aubrey Plaza, Jennifer Coolidge, and Meghann Fahy, among others, got praise for their great acting, as did the rest of the talented group.

A satirical dark comedy-drama from the U.S. Succession is about the Roy family, who owns Waystar RoyCo, a global media and entertainment empire. They are fighting for control of the company while there are questions about the health of Logan Roy (Brian Cox), the head of the family.
