Kalkaska native to host free mental health talk on teenage anxiety and depression


KALKASKA COUNTY, Mich., (WPBN/WGTU) — You can attend a mental health speaker event in Kalkaska on Monday.

The event is free and from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the Kalkaska High School auditorium.

Shandy Longcore, a Kalkaska native, is a mental health advocate and suicide prevention speaker.

She will talk about raising today’s teenagers as well as navigating teens’ anxiety and depression.

On Tuesday, Shandy will present a program to Kalkaska middle and high school students.

There will be a preview of that mental health assembly Monday night.
