Carmina J. (Rubino) Schorner, 94, of Altoona, peacefully passed away Saturday surrounded by her family at The Village at Morrisons Cove. She was born in Altoona, daughter of the late John and Daisy (Mirabella) Rubino.
Carmin married Norman S. Schorner on July 23, 1950, in Altoona. He preceded her in death October 2009 after sharing 59 years of marriage.
Surviving are her two sons, Gregory Schorner (Sherry) and John Schorner; five grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandsons; a sister-in-law, Anne Rubino; and many nephews and nieces.
Carmin was preceded in death by three brothers: George, Michael and John Rubino; three sisters: Dorothy Kinney, Violet Bidoli and Nell Delbaggio; daughter-in-law, Janice Schorner; and grandson, Douglas.
She was an Altoona High School graduate and retired from SKF Industries.
Carmin was a member of Altoona Alliance Church.
She enjoyed playing pinochle, cooking, traveling and especially spending time with family.
The family would like to thank the dedicated staffs of UPMC Family Hospice and The Village of Morrisons Cove.
At Carmin’s request, there will be no visitation or service. A private celebration of life and committal will be held at the convenience of the family.
