MEMPHIS, Tenn. – A man was shot Monday night after confronting car burglars outside a church in Binghampton, police said.

According to the Memphis Police Department (MPD), officers responded just after 8:15 p.m. to a shooting on the 200 block of East Parkway North and found a man had been shot.

He was rushed to Regional One Health in critical condition, police said.

Police said they believed those involved in the shooting left in a silver Toyota Camry with a missing headlight.

No other details were released.

FOX13 arrived at the scene and saw that police were investigating in the parking lot of First Baptist Church of Memphis.

Police said the man was shot after confronting multiple car burglars outside the church.
