Maisie Smith Escapes Morocco Two Days Before Earthquake

Maisie Smith said that she had just gotten back from Morocco two days before the terrible earthquake.

On Friday night, Morocco had its worst earthquake in more than a hundred years. At least 632 people died and more than 350 were hurt.

On the Richter scale, this quake measured 7.2, and it happened in the Atlas Mountains in Morocco. People in Portugal could feel the tremors.

It has broken up whole families, and people who were there say they heard “unbearable screaming and crying.” Distraught family members have been seen digging with their bare hands to try to find their buried loved ones.

In an Instagram post on Saturday, EastEnders actor Maisie, who is 22 years old, sent her condolences to those who were hurt by this terrible event.

“I can’t believe it,” she wrote. “We only just flew back from this beautiful country just two days ago.”

She also said, “My thoughts are with all the victims and the families of those who lost their lives in this tragedy.”

In an Instagram post on Thursday, Maisie had given her fans a sneak peek at her trip.
