Nanny Alum Fran Drescher Returns as SAG-AFTRA President Amid Hollywood Strike

Fran Drescher was recently named head of SAG-AFTRA again, even though the unions are still on strike.

After the poll results were made public on Friday, the Nanny star got 81% of the votes.

Fran thanked everyone in a message that was shared by Daily Mail. She said, “I am honoured to serve my union as president for another term.”

The 65-year-old actress said, “These are dynamic times, and as one member body, we will weather the storms, stand on our principles and make sure our major contributions to this collaborative art form shall never again be diminished but rather be exalted.”

Fran has been speaking out for the rights of people who work in the entertainment business since the 1980s.

Fran became famous with her 90s sitcom The Nanny. During the last season of the show, she made $1.5 million per episode, which made her one of the best-paid actors on TV at the time.

Fran, on the other hand, has had to deal with horrible things in her past, like being raped at gunpoint and fighting womb cancer.

In 2020, the actress told how her perfect memory helped the cops find the man who had raped her and put him in jail for life.
