Kanye West has asked the court to dismiss a racial discrimination complaint filed by two Donda Academy teachers.
Kanye and his Donda Academy were reportedly sued earlier this year for claimed racial discrimination by two former teachers, Cecilia Hailey and Chekarey Byers, according to RadarOnline.com.
In their lawsuit, Cecilia and Chekarey claimed that they witnessed suspected health and safety issues as well as illegal instructional procedures at Kanye’s private school.
Kanye, on the other hand, filed a second complaint in which he stated that the teachers were employed by Donda, not him.
“Hailey and Byers also make clear that they were employed by Donda Academy, not Ye,” the rapper wrote in his motion.
“The truth is, Ye had nothing to do with Donda’s policies, practices, operations, and procedures relating to the payment of employee wages upon termination of employment or the content or timing of employee wage statements while Donda Academy was in operation as a school,” Kanye’s counsel claimed. Plaintiffs are aware of this.”
“The truth is, while Donda Academy was in operation as a school, Ye had nothing to do with Donda’s policies, practices, operations, and procedures relating to the payment of employee wages upon termination of employment or the content or timing of employee wage statements. Plaintiffs know that,” the rapper’s awyer stated.
Meanwhile, Kanye stated that the former teachers’ complaint would not be permitted to be amended.
