Anne Heche Almost Joined Major Reality Show Before Deadly Crash

Many people were surprised, shocked, and looking for answers after Anne Heche died in a terrible car accident. The crash that killed the star and burned down a house could have led to charges against her. But, as some people have pointed out, Heche had a lot going on elsewhere.

Nellie Andreeva at Deadline said that Heche’s name was thrown around as one of the next singers on The Masked Singer. Heche was scheduled to be on Dancing With the Stars in 2020, so it’s not impossible that she could be ready for more reality shows.

Andreeva says that Heche was talking about joining the eighth season of The Masked Singer, but there is no solid information about how far the talks got. According to Deadline, the new season of Masked Singer has been shooting for about two weeks, and Heche hasn’t been there at all. There may have been a preliminary agreement, and FOX was “casting a wider net” each season to be ready for problems with COVID or scheduling.

Heche made it to the third round during her time on Dancing With the Stars. She was one of the first people to be kicked off the show. It was also a strange season because COVID spread, and Tom Bergeron and Erin Andrews left.

Thursday night, the actress from the movie Six Days, Seven Nights was ruled legally dead after her family and doctors took her off life support and found that her brain no longer worked. Heche’s heart is still beating, but this is just to make sure her tissues are healthy and could be donated.

“While Anne is legally dead according to California law, her heart is still beating, and she has not been taken off life support so that One Legacy can see if she is a match for organ donation,” a rep for the actress told Deadline. After the sad news spread, her family and friends made a united statement.

“We have lost a bright light, a kind and most joyful soul, a loving mother, and a loyal friend,” says the statement. “Anne will be deeply missed but she lives on through her beautiful sons, her iconic body of work, and her passionate advocacy. Her bravery for always standing in her truth, spreading her message of love and acceptance, will continue to have a lasting impact.”
