CAPAS, Tarlac: Two renowned animal welfare advocate groups have forged a partnership for the protection of wildlife.
WorkQC Group, an emerging leader in outsourcing and B2B (business-to-business) company based in Australia with a global presence in Peru, Australia and New Zealand, signed a memorandum of agreement with Animal Kingdom Foundation (AKF), an animal welfare champion in the Philippines.
The signing of the agreement took place at the AKF compound here on Thursday, December 7, which was led by AKF president and program director Heidi Caguioa and WorkQC managing director John Kennedy.
Kennedy said WorkQC gives full support to wildlife compassion and calls for a legacy of empathy and responsibility towards animals.
“The state of animal welfare in the Philippines, especially in ending the dog meat trade, can be achieved through partnerships and alliances,” he added.
Caguioa, on the other hand, noted that AKF has proven over the years the foundation’s holistic programs and campaigns bring community change.
“WorkQC Group Philippines has shown [their] dedication to help AKF achieve its mission to create a better tomorrow for the animals,” she said.
Caguioa added that in today’s world, business enterprises have taken steps to ensure a positive impact on the environment and society.
“WorkQC is taking responsibility to not only enhance its corporate image and gain the trust and loyalty of its clients but is taking positive action to impact improving the living conditions of animals by supporting AKF in its programs and activities,” she said.
Caguioa emphasized that animal welfare is not just the responsibility of nongovernment organizations like AKF and WorkQC.
“It is everybody’s responsibility and business establishments like WorkQC Group Philippines are taking that serious social responsibility prioritizing animal welfare and contributing to creating a better tomorrow for the animals,” she said.
Both groups believe that improvement in the care and treatment of animals not only helps create a more sustainable business environment but also promotes and protects nature and conservation efforts for natural resources, advocates human health, and fosters humane treatment of animals.
