Equine nutritionist Clare Macleod will discuss feeding horses and navigating many of the tightly held but often wrong beliefs when it comes to horses and their food requirements in a free webinar this week.

Macleod will aim to dispel many common nutrition myths — or ‘Nutribaloney’ as she calls it — in the latest Welfare Wednesday Webinars from World Horse Welfare. Macleod MSc RNutr is an independent Registered Equine Nutritionist with expertise in equine health and fitness, who provides consultancy to horse owners, managers, vets, and the horse feed industry.

The webinar will look at issues surrounding grass and forage, as well as concentrate feeds. It will also examine the marketing of feeds and supplements, and what owners need to know to ensure they are buying feeds and supplements for their horses’ safety.

Questions at the end of the webinar are welcomed, and Macleod will be joined by Liz Bulbrook, Baileys Horse Feeds Director of Nutrition, to answer nutrition-related queries.

» Register for Equine Nutrition Myths and Marketing, on December 13 at 7pm (GMT). The panel discussion will be followed by a Q&A session where viewers will have the chance to “ask the experts” any questions they may have. The webinar can also be viewed as a Facebook Live session.

The Welfare Wednesdays Webinar series bridges the gap between current research, experts and horse owners.Previous webinars have covered subjects such as keeping horses fit, weight management, euthanasia, biosecurity, horse mental wellbeing and travelling. They are all available to watch on the World Horse Welfare Advice Pages.
