Tiffany Haddish’s fans were outraged after she failed to appear at one of her gigs.
Page Six stated that Tiffany Haddish’s abrupt cancellation from a recent comedy engagement left the audience “pissed.”
Later that night, the struggling comedian was due to appear at The Ice House in Pasadena, California, alongside a number of other stand-up comedians. She was officially charged on Wednesday following her November DUI arrest.
Haddish, 44, is claimed to have announced she “would not be performing tonight” when the evening’s emcee arrived after more than two hours of performances.
“He said she ‘couldn’t make it.’ This was after five acts had already performed, and only two comedians were left,” a showgoer told Page Six.
According to several sources, they “could feel the air leave the room when everyone gasped with anger and disappointment.”
“Everyone was looking at each other, like, ‘Is this part of a bit, or is he serious?!” according to another source.
The Girls Trip actor fell asleep behind the wheel after a Thanksgiving comedy show and was charged with one misdemeanor offense of driving under the influence of alcohol and one misdemeanor count of driving with a.08 percent blood alcohol content (BAC).
A Beverly Hills Police Department watch commander advised us at the time that the woman’s car was “stopped in lanes of traffic” and had not been pulled over to the side, forcing oncoming vehicles to avoid her.
Despite this, the officer stated that there were “no traffic collisions.”
In a video of her detention, Haddish appeared cooperative as she was handcuffed and brought to the back of the squad car by officers.
She is due back in court on December 22 for her arraignment and plea.
The comedian was arrested in Georgia in January 2022, her second DUI arrest in less than two years after falling asleep behind the wheel.
