The Emmy-winning actor was best known for his indelible appearances in crime shows, including Frank Pembleton on Homicide: Life on the Street in the 1990s and Captain Raymond Holt on Brooklyn Nine-Nine in the 1990s.

Throughout his three-decade career, he has received numerous honors and nominations for these and other roles.

They have also gained him the respect of admirers all across the world, as well as his B99 family.

Braugher’s B99 co-stars paid passionate respects to the man they worked with for a decade just hours after his passing.

“This hurts. You left us too soon. You taught me so much,” Terry Crews, who played investigator Terry Jeffords, commented on Instagram.

“I miss him so much already. What an honor to work with a man who knew what it was really all about,” Joe Lo Truglio, who played investigator Charles Boyle, wrote.
