A Worcester destination for contemporary art

I’m one of the resident artists there and didn’t want to be seen as using the feature to promote my own art.

However, in the end I went ahead because the site has so much more to offer than just one artist!

In new developments from April, recent changes include the addition of yet another artist’s studio, meaning there are now six resident artists working on-site who are more than happy to welcome visitors.

They are abstract oil painter Dan Holden, textile artist Jane Arthur, watercolour and Chinese ink artist Jennifer Ng, original printmaker Gary Williams, mixed media artist Susan Birth and our newest recruit — painter and printmaker Cristina Gardiner.

Six quite different art styles!

A new events space has also been created, intended for use by visiting artists to hold art workshops.

Site owner Kim Taylor said: “We are really excited with the new business developments this spring, offering our visitors more art to enjoy in our beautiful setting and more opportunities for local artists to be a part of our vibrant creative site.”

Bevere Gallery is situated just a short distance from Worcester but has a real countryside feel, providing a sense of calm and escape from the city.

There’s such a lot to see and enjoy here, including the beautifully-curated ceramics gallery and the six open artist studios where visitors can call in, chat to the artists and see original contemporary art in progress and on display.

The site’s café, with both covered and outdoor seating, is hugely popular with locals and visitors alike, the delicious cake being especially sought-after!

All in all, the site is a destination for contemporary art lovers and the perfect location for an ‘arty’ trip out.

Located in Bevere Lane, WR3 7RQ, it is open on Tuesdays to Saturdays from 10am until 4pm.

There is plenty of free parking space.
