A$AP Rocky Pleads ‘Not Guilty’ in the Face of Felony Allegations

A$AP Rocky is maintaining his composure as his legal battle with A$AP Relli began on Monday, January 8.

According to People Magazine, the Fashion Killa rapper entered a not guilty plea after a judge ruled in November that there was sufficient evidence to proceed with the trial.

Following the arraignment, Rocky’s attorney, Joe Tacopina, informed the press that the rapper is “cool as a cucumber” about the trial. He said that the Praise the Lord hitmaker is just eager for the trial to be “over with so he can start enjoying his family.”

Rocky, real name Rakim Athelaston Mayers, faces two counts of assault with a firearm. He allegedly discharged a semi-automatic weapon at his former buddy and plaintiff, A$AP Relli, following a heated argument.

Relli had filed a defamation case against Rocky for the shooting and his lawyer, Tacopina, for portraying him as an extortionist and liar.

Rocky could face up to 24 years in prison for the allegations, which comes as a blow to his partner and baby mama, Rihanna.

The Umbrella singer and Rocky welcomed their first son, RZA, in May 2022, and Riot Rose in August 2023.

Insiders earlier told Life & Style that the Fenty Beauty founder is “trying to stay calm and listen to the lawyers promising they’ll keep him out of jail.”
