ACC Tipoff: Louisville women’s basketball meet the media

Louisville senior Olivia Cochran is determined to be a more versatile performer for the Cardinals this season. The 6-foot-3 Cochran left a big impression in her last outing, logging a double-double of 20 points and 14 rebounds against No. 4 Iowa in NCAA Elite 8. As she gears up for her senior campaign, Cochran is seeking to further strengthen her presence in the program.

“I’ve been here for four years and building the name for myself, so I just want to keep doing that and put a top dog in this program for Coach Walz,” Cochran said. “So yeah, that’s what I want to prove.”

To do so, Cochran, the only Cardinal to play in all 38 games last season, has focused on improving all aspects of her game.

“Definitely with my ball handling,” Cochran said. “My coaches have emphasized that I might have to play on the perimeter this year, so I might have to bring to the ball up the court,” Cochran said. “I need to control my dribbling, so definitely that’s been a big part of my workouts now. Also, pull-up jumpers, three-point shots. It’s part of being versatile.”

Cochran has career averages of 8.9 points and 6.1 rebounds.
