Accent on Travel in Rehoboth Beach recently announced its selection as a Travel Elevates Agency Award finalist for the 2023 Signature Recognition Awards.
The Travel Elevates Agency Award recognizes a travel agency that leverages its global travel partnerships to promote sustainability and enrich communities through education and economic empowerment.
President and founder Annette Nero Stellhorn said, “The ability to impact your local community and communities worldwide is, by far, the most rewarding aspect of being successful in business. Thankfully, our reputation and the volume of travel we sell has put us in a position to negotiate with cruise lines, tour companies and hoteliers to help our local nonprofits receive travel offerings at a discount rate or donated for live auction events. As long as our partners continue to see a return of future sales, they are willing to continue to bring value to our community in a big way. Many of our clients see this as an added value since they receive the highest level of personal service by being able to plan their vacations during in-person meetings with a professional, get the best value for their travel dollar with our contracts and expertise, continue to support local jobs and help local nonprofits. It’s a win-win for everyone involved.”
Accent on Travel’s philanthropic efforts also reach around the world through its Hosted Journeys. Travelers visiting Third World countries that feature a wish list experience can also take advantage of the option to visit local communities, schools, orphanages and organizations where tourism efforts impact local communities in a big way. Stellhorn said, “Some of my most memorable moments in travel are visiting locations where our travelers’ donations have built a well for a school in Tanzania or provided new clothes to an orphanage in Nepal, or shopping with travelers on tour to furnish school supplies to a village in Madagascar.”
“Signature is thrilled to recognize Accent on Travel on their nomination and being selected as a finalist for the Travel Elevates Award,” said Alex Sharpe, president and CEO of Signature Travel Network, the cooperative that Accent on Travel owners Rick and Annette Stellhorn have been affiliated with for almost 20 years.
The winners will be announced during the Signature Travel Network Confernce in Las Vegas later in November.
Accent on Travel will be celebrating its 35th year in business in March 2024, and currently has 24 professional travel advisors residing in Delaware, Maryland, Pennsylvania and New Jersey. For more information, go to AccentonTravel.com.
