According to Reports, Feds Have New Trump Obstruction Evidence

The Justice Department is looking into how Donald Trump handled classified documents, and sources told The Washington Post that they have found new evidence that points to obstruction.

The new information also suggests that Special Counsel Jack Smith has kept the focus of his investigation on the former president’s possible attempts to obstruct justice. This is different from the investigation into the documents found at President Biden’s office and home, which was focused on the documents themselves. FBI and Justice Department investigators have found that Trump looked through boxes with classified documents after he had already been asked to turn them over. He did this because he wanted to keep some of them with him, sources told the Post. And when Trump finally gave the documents to the government in January, they found that he had kept some from them.

As the investigation heats up, Trump is also facing three other criminal probes. On Thursday, a grand jury looking into hush money payment to pornstar Stormy Daniels charged him with three crimes. Trump spokesman Steven Cheung said, “The witch hunts against President Trump are not based on facts or the law.” “The crazy special counsel and the Department of Justice have now resorted to prosecutorial misconduct by illegally leaking information to taint the legal process and turn the justice system into a weapon to sway public opinion and interfere with the election.”
