LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Actors Theatre of Louisville and Redline Performing Arts are collaborating once again to present ‘The Color Purple.’
The Tony Award-winning musical that tells a powerful story of resilience, sisterhood, and self-discovery.
Based on the novel by Alice Walker, this beloved production has touched audiences’ hearts for nearly 40 years.
The show will run Nov. 15 through Nov. 24 at Actors Theatre and will feature a dual cast, a choice made to highlight Louisville’s abundant talent.
“It’s all because of the amount of talent that we have in Louisville,” said co-producer Alonzo Ramont. “So many talented people came out to audition, we just couldn’t say no. We decided to make room for everyone.”
This marks another collaboration between Actors Theatre and Redline, who worked together in August on the widely praised ‘Who Killed Alberta Jones.’
