Adele Says Rich Paul’s Mom Raised a ‘Good Man’ When She Was Alive

Adele, who recently announced her marriage to husband Rich Paul, offered a poignant homage to his late mother Minerva Martin for upbringing him in the manner of a gentleman.

On Thursday, December 8, the Hello singer received the Sherry Lansing Leadership Award at the Hollywood Reporter’s Annual Women in Entertainment Gala.

During her award acceptance speech, she stated, “I actually have many men in my life who I love and who love me, but in the spirit of this morning and in fear of bras being burned, I’m gonna thank their mothers and not them.”

Notably, the Grammy winner complimented her husband’s mother with raising “a good man who [does] not think that a woman’s power diminishes their own.”

Adele announced her marriage to the famed sports agent earlier this month during her closest buddy Alan Carr’s comedy gig in Los Angeles.

During the show, Alan joked about whether “anyone [in the audience] got married recently.” In response, the Skyfall singer exclaimed, “I did.”

The duo, who have been dating since 2021, fueled marriage rumors after the 35-year-old singer referred to Rich as her “husband” on multiple occasions during her residency in Las Vegas.

Adele previously divorced Simon Konecki. In 2019, the two split ways.

Angelo, the former partners’ son, was born in 2012.
