Akron teen shot while riding in car


SUMMIT COUNTY, Ohio (WOIO) – A 17-year-old girl was shot while riding in a car early Thursday morning, said Akron police.

The teenager was grazed on her upper body and officers said she was treated at Summa Health Akron City Hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.

According to Akron police, the victim was a rear passenger in a car with at least three other people when someone shot at them in the 1000 block of Vernon Odom Blvd. around 1:30 a.m.

The victims told police they had just left the Spring Hill Apartments after an argument with unknown suspects when a vehicle pulled up next to them and someone fired at least one shot.
