The Pirates of the Caribbean star revealed that Johnny Depp has cast Al Pacino in his second film, which is about the life of the artist Amedeo Modigliani.
In Modi, Pacino will play Maurice Gangnat, a real-life art collector whose portrait was painted by Pierre-Auguste Renoir in 1916.
Dennis McIntyre wrote the play that the movie is based on. In addition to Al Pacino, Italian actor Riccardo Scamarcio will play the main character, and French actor Pierre Niney will play Maurice Utrillo, who is a colleague of the main character.
Johnny Depp hasn’t been in charge of a movie since The Brave came out in 1996. This will be his first movie since then. The movie is set to start filming in Hungary in the fall of 2023.
The movie shows a series of crazy things that happen in war-torn Paris. Modigliani is on the run, trying to escape the cops and his own urge to call it quits. After being dismissed by his contemporaries, he meets a Polish artist in what will be the climax of the story.
On the other hand, Depp plays Louis XV in the planned French period drama Jeanne du Barry, which will have its world premiere on May 16 and is directed by and stars Mawenn.
