Alamosa Creates looks for community input

Alamosa Creates is excited to invite all residents to participate in one of a series of interactive community meetings focused on shaping the vision for Alamosa’s Creative District.

The first event will be held Wednesday, April 9, from 6-8 p.m. at Adams State’s Xperimental Theatre.

This is an opportunity for everyone to have a direct impact on the future of arts, culture, and innovation in Alamosa. A Creative District is a designated area that concentrates arts and cultural resources and activities. Such a district can enrich the community by attracting artists, creative businesses, and visitors. It can also enhance the community’s identity through the celebration of Alamosa’s artistic and cultural heritage. Additionally, it can provide gathering spaces for events, performances, and community interaction, and improve the overall quality of life by increasing access to arts and cultural experiences.

These meetings will give community members a chance to share ideas about what kind of arts and cultural activities they’d like to see in Alamosa, provide valuable feedback on potential locations, designs, and programming for the Creative District, and help set priorities for the most important needs and opportunities for our creative community.

Meetings will be held on:

  • Wednesday, April 9, 6-8 p.m. at Adams State University Xperimental Theatre, 208 Edgemont Blvd.
  • Tuesday, April 29, 5-7 p.m. at Boys & Girls Clubs of the San Luis Valley, 1115 10th St.
  • Wednesday, May 21, 5-7 p.m. at SLV Museum, 401 Hunt Ave.
  • Tuesday, June 10, 3:30-5:30 p.m. at City Hall, 300 Hunt Ave.
